Simple Child's Apron

(March 2004)

For Debora's birthday I made her an apron with a matching headkerchief. I made the pattern with the Wild Things! software from ginger.com

It turned out great, only could have been a little longer. I finished with a bias tape cut from the same fabric. It made a very nice finish and the ties are part of the binding.

I looked at a store-bought apron and copied the style. The headkerchief is just a triangle that I cut after measuring her head and it is bound also in a bias cut from the fabric and extended into ties.

Green Striped Apron

(March 2004)

For my mom's birthday I made her an apron. I used the Elizabeth Lee 208 pattern (a nursing jumper), shortened it, rounded the corners and added ties. She prefers this kind of aprons to wear with pants.

I also made matching pot holders from the fabric that I had left. I stitched the apples on with very simple stitches.

3 Cotton Aprons

(March 2005)

I participated in the NMSL apron sewalong. The blue apron I made for Debora last year went to Elizabet and I made apron for the older three girls.

For the two bigger ones I traced a RTW apron, making it a tad smaller for the pink one. For the watermelon one, I used the same pattern I did last year (printed from Wild Things software), just made it longer.

I used the same way of binding all aprons. I copied the style from a RTW apron and love it. The top and bottom of the apron are bound first. Then the ties, sides and straps are made in one step!
