Pink Jumper

(April 2004)

This is a jumper made from a pattern in Burda's children's edition. Because Debora is tall, but very thin, most of the clothes are too big on her. First I wasn't sure what to do, but then I cut out a much smaller size and lengthened it quite a bit.

It's such a simple pattern. The bodice is fully lined, I just used self fabric, so it's very nice and clean finished from the inside as well.

It turned out great. I did put in a back zipper, as the pattern said, but it turns out she can put it on and off without opening the zipper.

She loves it and even her doll got a dress out of it.

Burgundy Christmas Jumpers

(December 2004)

These were my Christmas presents this year my two little girls. I used the same Burda pattern as above. I used the same size for the older one, but still lengthened it quite a bit.

For my younger girl I reduced the pattern and also lengthened it a bit. They finally have some modest decent outfits for church!

This fabric was a joy to work with. I am not sure what it is, I guess something like moleskin. It doesn't fray, so no edge finish needed! Yay! I lined both bodices with black lining. Wish I nad a more matching color, but it only peeks out a tiny bit at a few places.

This time I didnt' put in zippers, but made small slits in the back with just one button and a loop at the neckline. It's a bit hard to put it on. So, maybe I should just stick to the zipper option next time.
