ELD 104 Nursing Nightgowns

July 2003

I decided to make a nursing nightgown. I used the Elizabeth Lee 104 pattern. I really liked it, even though the fabric I have is cotton and wrinkles awfully. So, it only looks nice after it has been washed and ironed. But it's a very soft cotton for sleeping.

The only thing I would change next time is that I would make a larger size (this was medium and is a little tight in the shoulders).

I would probably also lengthen the sleeves a bit, as they slide high when sleeping. But I love the nursing openings. They are just right.

April 2004

I made another nursing night gown from ELD 104. I had a piece of white cotton with lace as part of it. Couldn't figure out what to use it for. Finally it dawned on me that I could use it for a night gown and I wouldn't have to hem anything.

I still made a few mistakes (never assume that because you have done a pattern, you can't make a mistake, LOL), but all of them I was able to fix. I used the instructions for knits this time, even though it's a woven, but it work out great.
