ELD 307 Crop Top

July 2003

I experimented with ELD 307 pattern. I tried to do a full bust adjustment, which was fairly succesful. I took view one and omitted the buttons, so that it would turn out like a simple crop nursing top.

I sewed both sides of the overlay into the side seams and it works. It does distort the neckline when nursing, but it's still modest and I don't mind that much.

Maybe if the fabric would be more drapy or knit, it would be even better. This is pretty stiff cotton.

I also don't really like the sligthly dropped shoulders. I think I would prefer regular fitted sleeves.

Things I have learned:

~ this is a good muslin and fits really good

~ I learned how to make a binding from self-fabric. It really isn't hard and looks very goo. It's a great alternative to facing. I think I will use it much more.

~ an all-around crop would probably be a bit easier for nursing and a bit of interesting detali would detract from my large bust.

Actively sewing since
